Healthy Minds is the working name of Calderdale Wellbeing, a mental health charity based in Halifax, offering services Calderdale-wide.
Healthy Minds aims to develop innovative, responsive and flexible resources that will enhance wellbeing in Calderdale. Our ethos and services derive from our collective experience of living and working with mental distress. We take a whole-person approach, recognising the impact of social, economic and health inequalities on mental health. We work to reduce stigma and raise awareness of mental distress.
Our services are based around the ethos of peer support and Recovery; we involve service users at all levels, and amongst our paid staff, trustees and volunteers, roughly 90% have their own lived experience of mental distress. Having such experience is not a requirement to join us, but we certainly see it as a positive.

The NHS in Calderdale recognises that each year nearly a quarter of us have difficulties with common psychological problems such as anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, phobias and anger, as well as problems with regards to relationships, work or debt.
Because these difficulties have a considerable impact on our lives, Calderdale Talking Therapies has been commissioned to make the appropriate help more easily available to those who need it. Calderdale Talking Therapies is part of Insight Healthcare, a not-for-profit organisation and experienced provider of talking therapy services, on behalf of the NHS.
