The “Abstinence Group” is the recovery phase of the TBRP Recovery Programme: Recovery Phase Is a twenty-four session rolling programme which you enter following the Pre-Recovery or Detoxification phase. Now that the physical dependency of your addiction has been addressed we take an in-depth look at the mental and emotional aspects. In the groups, we are asked to identify our feelings and to share with our peers what is going on with us today. We relate our similar experiences and feelings to each other and thus realise that we are not alone and need not be ashamed. Together, we then help each other plan how to deal with our issues. Groups are facilitated by a Recovery Coach and/or people in long-term recovery. Monday Here & Now has no break!

The Concerned Others Group (formerly Carers Group) is a support group for friends and relatives of those who use drink or drugs. The group offers peer support and is facilitated by a CRS worker, allowing for insight into treatment pathways and support services.

It is more about addictive thinking and behaviours that are attributed to addiction and looking at how the client, through the help of the group, can learn techniques and coping strategies that will help them to address key issues that they feel are stopping them from achieving their goals. The Basement provides twice-weekly drop-ins in Halifax for food to those who are socially excluded or homeless. Many are single, without dependent children, so they come bottom of the housing list. With low confidence and self-esteem, low skills, lack of employment, dependent on drugs and alcohol, poor mental and physical health and insufficient access to appropriate housing, they find it almost impossible to move on with their life.
