All activities are free and open to anyone.
At Calderdale in Recovery, we champion the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
The Five Ways are a set of realistic, achievable actions we can incorporate into our day-to-day activities to feel happier and more content with our lives.
One of the Five Ways is ‘Be Active‘ – being physically active throughout our life improves physical health and can improve mood and wellbeing and decrease stress, depression and anxiety. On this page, you will find our current community activities to help with being active.
Through our recovery community, we also encourage and help to engage with the other Five Ways:
Connect
Strengthening relationships with others and feeling close to and valued by others, including our recovery circles, is critical to boosting wellbeing.
Take Notice
Paying more attention to the present moment, to thoughts and feelings and to the world around, boosts our wellbeing.
Keep Learning
Being curious and seeking out new experiences in recovery and life more generally positively stimulates the brain.
Give
Carrying out acts of kindness, whether small or large, can increase happiness, life satisfaction and a general sense of wellbeing.
